SEMAA Summer Space Camp GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR PARENTS WHO HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED THAT THEIR CHILDREN HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED TO THE PROGRAM. Download as a PDF of this information, click here Who, When and Where Grades 1 - 4 meet June 15 – 19 from 9:00am to 12:00pm in Lawson Hall. Grades 5 – 8 meet June 22 – 16 from 9:00am to 12:00pm in Lawson Hall. Parking Please plan to park in any parking lot and in any space EXCEPT where marked “for faculty only.” Directions to TSU or AEL (Lawson Hall) Click on the green button located alongside the left that says “directions.” From there, you can choose directions to TSU or to the Aerospace Education Lab. The AEL is located in Lawson Hall. Lawson Hall also includes the classrooms where your students will be. Signs will be posted on classroom doors with the grade that will be in that classroom. On the First Day Please make sure you accompany your student on the first day to sign him or her into class and make sure we have the Parent Permission and Emergency Information (PPEI) on hand. Go directly to your student’s (or students’) classroom. The teacher will have an attendance sheet with all enrolled students on it. If your student’s name is not on that list, you (and possibly your student) will be sent to the AEL (room 107) so that Tracy or Robin can determine the status of your application. Drop-off and Pick-up • If you walk your child to class and/or pick up your child from class, you must park in a parking space in a parking lot. Please do not leave your car unattended in the drop off/pick up drive through line. • Besides accompanying your child on the first day, you are permitted to drive into in the alley that runs between Lawson Hall and the football field (blue fence) to drop off and pick up your student. There will be a SEMAA Staff member at the door to watch children enter and go to their classroom. • Once you drive into the alley, you must continue on to the parking lot at the rear of the building. From there, anyone can drive around the perimeter and exit via the same alley (there is room for cars to come in AND go out); however, DO NOT TURN AROUND IN THE ALLEY NOR BLOCK TRAFFIC FROM TRAVELLING THROUGH THE ALLEY AT ANY TIME. Please Bring with You… • One day 1, please bring a signed copy of the Parent Permission and Emergency Information (PPEI). The PPEI pdf is attached to this email AND we will have extras available for you to sign on day 1 if you need to wait until then. If you can not consent to all parts of the PPEI, then you must agree to remain with your student throughout the camp in order for your student to participate. • Any day, please provide the latest copy of your student’s report card, if available. Report cards are used for research and reporting purposes at the aggregate level only and are not revealed for any individual student nor shared with outside sources. DO NOT BRING THE ORIGINAL REPORT CARD. • Every day, please send a snack or $1.00 to purchase a snack for your student(s) to eat during the break time. |
